An 18th Century copperplate armorial bookplate showing the coat-of-arms and Latin family motto - 'Virtue Alone is Invincible' - of the Duke of Norfolk.

The bookplate probably belonged to Edward Howard, 9th Duke (1686 -1777), who amassed a great library and stipulate in his will that such items were to remain in the family after his death.

The bookplate is loosely mounted for framing.

The plate is in good condition but does have some foxing to the top and bottom. There is also some creasing to the top section.
