An original early 19th Century hand-coloured lithographic caricature of Austrian diplomat and chancellor Klemens von Mitternich and the Austrian Emperor Francis I.
Entitled 'Vienna - Expediency', plate No. 10 was published by Thomas McLean on 1 October 1830 in Robert Seymour's satirical publication 'The Looking Glass'.
Both historical figures are depicted lamenting the July 1830 revolution against the French King, Charles X.
The print, which is unmounted and unframed, is in fair to good condition without any rips or repairs, but is browned round the edges owing to age and being in a frame for some time. It is also cropped from a larger original sheet.
The print measures: 10 inches wide and 6 inches high.
