A genuine - NOT facsimile - ink signature of two-times Prime Minister Henry John Temple, 3rd Viscount Palmerston (20 October 1784 - 18 October 1865).

Educated at Edinburgh University and St John's College, Cambridge, Palmerston was consecutively Secretary at War (1809-1828), Foreign Secretary (1830-1851), and then Prime Minister from 1855-1858 and 1859-1865. He died on 18 October 1865 while still Premier.

The signature is nicely mounted and framed and is accompanied by several official crests from Buckingham Palace, the Office of the Prime Minister, and the Duchy of Lancaster (on the back).
